James W. Griffith, the President & CEO of Timken (a global leading precision bearings manufacturer for aerospace industry) said in ¡°First Financial Daily¡±:¡°we hope Timken fully serve the Chinese aerospace industry.¡±
Reportedly, Timken has opened its aerospace and precision products center in Chengdu, China to better serve the Chinese and global aerospace markets.
¡°Timken has launched some projects for China civil aerospace industry, including Phoenix ARJ21, Xinzhou MA60, etc. As for the large passenger jets¡ª 737 aircraft type and even higher type, the company will make some efforts indirectly, because Timken is not the direct supplier but only a components provider. Our final products will be sold to airplane engine & wheel manufacturers for their further development on large passenger jets¡±, Griffith said in a statement.
