Schaeffler Newly Developed the Angular Contact Needle Roller Bearing

Schaeffler Group Industrial has launched a maintenance-free complete system for seed discs under its brands INA and FAG. The newly developed angular contact needle roller bearing unit enables extremely high load carrying capacity and tilting rigidity to be achieved. A multi-lip cassette seal reliably protects the bearing against contamination and prevents grease loss. Thus the clearance-free units are supplied with the maximum grease quantity, which ensures maintenance-free operation without downtimes. Moreover, the Corrotect® coating protects the bearing against corrosion. As a result, bearing life is significantly increased even if extreme dirt and heavy shock loads and torques form part of the operating conditions.

Quick and easy installation
At the same time, the ready-to-mount unit permits quicker installation and easier seed disc change. Attachment screws for the seed discs have already been integrated in the flanged bearing. The seed disc is initially attached to the bearing. Afterwards, the entire unit is screwed to the machine quickly and easily via a central screw. Seed disc change is just as easy with this bearing unit by simply loosening the screws.

Prototypes available for field tests
Following successful test rig trials and field tests, there are now prototypes available for testing purposes in time for the beginning of the spring sowing season.
