The SKF Explorer design offers improved precision with running accuracy to ISO tolerance class P5 and ABMA ABEC Class 5 (up to 52mm outside diameter); dimensional accuracy to ISO tolerance Class 6 and ABMA ABEC Class 3; and width tolerance tighter than ISO tolerance class Normal. All contribute Explorer's to smooth-running performance, higher speed capability, less vibration, and extended service life.
Tight width tolerances additionally provide designers with an ability to reduce overall tolerance stackup in a shaft system.
Advanced sealing designs maximize grease retention and provide protection against contaminants without compromising speed capabilities. Lubricant options in sealed or shielded versions include ultra-quiet, food quality, and high-temperature greases. Specially developed finishes on all contact surfaces reinforce the effects of lubrication. All combine to reduce friction and enhance bearing operation.
SKF Explorer deep groove ball bearings are manufactured from high-quality steel exhibiting very low oxygen content, which serves to extend their life and reduce fatigue failure by preventing the formation of fatigue-causing oxide inclusions in the steel.
