Metcar grades M-161 and M-162 mechanical carbon/graphite Babbit impregnated materials are suited for lubricating in submerged low viscosity fluids such as water and fuels. For dry environments, self-lubricating materials provide oil-free lubrication at high temperatures. Materials are utilized for moderate loads at medium and high speeds and bearings manufactured from them are low in friction and will not score mating shaft.
